Full Tilt Points (aka FTP’s) are Full Tilt’s way of giving back to players for participating in Full Tilt Poker cash games or tournaments.  If you are a consistent player they can accumulate quickly and they have many uses from clearing your Full Tilt Poker bonus to purchasing items in the Full Tilt Poker store.

Earning Full Tilt Points

Full Tilt Points are simply earned by playing online at Full Tilt Poker.
In cash games you earn 1 FTP for every dollar that is raked from a hand you were participating in.  For example, if $0.50 was raked from a hand you would receive 0.5 points (Yes, partial points are awarded).  The maximum amount of FTP’s you can earn per hand is 3.
In tournaments you earn 7 FTP’s for every dollar that you pay in tourney fees.  For example, if you play in a $5 + $0.50 tournament you would earn 3.5 points.

Using Full Tilt Points

Full Tilt Points are important to earn because not only can they be used to enter tournaments or purchase items in the Full Tilt shop, but they are also used to keep track of your progress in many Full Tilt promotions.  For example, after signing up using Full Tilt referral code THEFULLTILT and making your initial deposit, your bonus is placed in a pending bonus account.  Your initial deposit bonus is then released into your real money account based on the amount of Full Tilt Points you accumulate (every FTP you earn releases $0.06 of your bonus).  Another example would be the Iron Man Challenge promotion where you must earn a certain number of Full Tilt points each day during a month to qualify for exclusive freerolls and bonus prizes.
